Using microbes in your soil is one of the best ways you can support your cannabis harvest. Microbes and plants have a mutually beneficial relationship and we’re here to help you understand the benefits of this relationship and the specific microbes to use for optimal growth. 

What are microbes, well microbes are beneficial bacteria that provide vital nutrients to plants in the soil. Let’s take a look at the symbiotic relationship between how microbes and the cannabis plants work together in soil. Plants need the proper amounts of phosphorus, potassium, and nitrogen to survive and microbes play a huge role in how much of those nutrients your plants receive.

There are nutrients already in your soil however that doesn’t mean they are naturally accessible to the plant. There’s a process that occurs in which microbes  play a vital part in breaking down the minerals for the plant to properly consume. For example, a microbe will consume Potassium, metabolize it, and excrete it in a form much more readily consumed by the plants. This process also assists in to aerate the soil, which ensures an even flow of water and nutrients. 

Microbes also feed on root excretions in the soil called exudates. These exudate have a variety of amino and organic acids, and sugars which is another great source of nutrition and when the microbes are happy, your plants will thrive!
